This conference is dedicated to the legacy of Dr. Andra McCartney, a professor in Concordia’s Department of Communication Studies from 1999 to 2016.

An internationally recognized sound artist, prolific author and researcher, and a leading voice in the field of acoustic ecology and soundscape studies. She is fondly remembered by her students as a trailblazing researcher,  and generous mentor who transformed her field and all those who crossed her path.
